LWC (Matt/ Gloss)

Lightweight coated (LWC) paper is made from mechanical pulp. The mechanical pulping process uses
logs or wood chips to mechanically separate the wood fibres which are used to make paper.

Long cellulose fibres are added to achieve superior strength. The lightweight paper is coated to achieve
excellent printing quality. The coating consists of clay and binder agents, which are applied by a
special coating unit. LWC comes in different versions. A matt-surfaced version is used for offset printing of textbooks. LWC gloss is used for magazines and Catalogues.
General Uses: LWC is mainly used for Magazines, Catalogues, Textbook, promotion materials and other commercial literature.
